Title: thickness of discs
Post by: leigh3292 on 24 August 2013, 10:10
Im wondering if anyone can help me,
ive got a mk3 golf gti 8v and recently my abs light came on so i took off a wheel and had a look at the brakes,
pads seem low but also the discs are getting thin aswell , does anyone know the thickness that they should roughly be and if there is anything else i should check if the abs light comes on.
cheers :-)

Scan it for faults first.
You will most likely have a sensor out, my advice is to replace them in in pairs
Disc thickness will not affect abs.
If they look worn have a heavy lip or have uneven wear then change them regardless.

Think minimum thickness is 19mm and 7mm F/R
