Title: Sleep Paralysis
Post by: Adam on 23 August 2013, 20:51
Has anyone ever experienced this?

I had an episode of this last night, its a horrible horrible experience. Being aware visually and audibly aware of your surroundings but no control of movement with a ringing in my ears. The only way to describe it is when you work out at the gym and your at that point where your body wont lift any more, it feels like your whole body is dead.

Discuss.

Not suffered this but last night woke up with a lovely dose of weld flash combined with severe cramps in the legs, not a pretty site of a 16st blind man bouncing round the bedroom naked

I get this alot. Either wake up paralysed with the feeling of someone pushing the muscles in my back just below shoulders which is horrible enough when your awake or I actually know when it's going to happen and have to fight falling asleep for a while.

I had this quite frequently as a child actually. It must have been a phase, but I remember one time I thought I genuinely saw a robber. Haven't had it in years though, but I remember just how terrifying it is with the amount you sweat and the struggle to speak or move. Not nice

I've had it once when i was younger, woke up(or so i thought) to a black figure at the bottom of my bed. Couldn't move anything, i tried to shout and all that seemed to come out was very very quite whispering. Then, all of a sudden i had a huge shock(like electric going through my body) and jumped up.

Very frightening

I Haven't had this but i've developed a weird sleep thing too!

Recently i've been waking up really really confused, like i dont know where i am, or why i'm there, or my wife and daughters names! sh!ts me right up, the only thing i remember is my Dog is called Paco then i rebuild from there, lasts about 5 minutes genuinely thinking i might have to see a doctor!

I once had a very similar experience although it was a massive black spider on the bed next to me (a few feet across kind of massive)! It was, at least to me at the time, COMPLETELY real. Then all of a sudden I snapped too and was across the room and hitting the light switch in about 2 nanoseconds. Fastest I've ever moved that was!

Horrible though, not happened again thank god.
