Title: mk4 new exhaust please advise,im a gardener so how should i know

hi I have a 2003 mk4 130bhp 1.9 tdi,its in need of a full exhaust system,would it be best to buy like for like or would it be better and cheaper to buy a power exhaust any advice would be helpful thanks

depends what you want.


if its just one of the pipes has cracked it would be cheeper to just buy some stainless and get it fitted...

some aftermarket exhausts can be picked up cheep on ebay and places. but more expensive systems can be 500+

same with custom systems.

hi thanks for reply no good at all with cars apart from driving so your advice is well helpful,on the exhaust both brackets front and back keep snapping on the weld if I was to buy a new one would I be better to get a average decat sport or replace with the standard one that's on the car now would be nice to have it a bit flash cos its a bloody good car would like to look after her for a bit thanks

Get a custom exhaust a lot cheaper.. or if you just want replacement find someone breaking same spex as yours and swap the exhaust over. Im sure a decent good welder can secures yours tho if thats all it is.

As for sport cats der big bucks. Not sure how decat sums up on a deisel may just make it sounds more like a tractor :grin:
