Title: For the vr6 boys!
Post by: Outlawsaffa1982 on 16 August 2013, 14:55
So it's getting towards that time where my Vr is gonna need timing chains doing, I figured I may as well do the head at the same time! I'm looking at dropping a cam into it, does anyone have any recommendations what degree can I should go for?

She is my daily driver so reliability is a big factor!

Best bet would be try on the vr6 owners club vr6oc.co.uk or .com

Agreed, they seem to be a good option

Schrick 268s are a good option...well enough mannered to use on the street, but up to track stuff too.
Sadly, and cam set will give up some bottom end - which the VR6 isn't exactly brimming with considering its capacity...so the perfect match is a Schrick VGI and pair of 268 cams to add bottom end and top end....but it's ££££

Much cheaper to get a 24v vr6 from the mk4

Is there much of an advantage having the 24v head aposed to the 12v? How much am I looking at for the shrick 268?
