Title: Another GTD ordered
Post by: Chris.Air on 16 August 2013, 09:44
Well that's it done no more time to change the colour :undecided:
I ordered a GTD,dsg, nav (not pro) and keyless entry in limestone, then went had a look at one in the flesh  it was just to much se and not enough gtd. I have then switched between midnight blue and tungsten silver now time has run out and I made my decision midnight blue. I have came from a white car so only hope like this dark colour. Looked sweet on the demo GTI
Roll on December

Glad it's not just me who's indecisive

How do you know it's too late to change your mind again? It's not being built for another 3 months

The demo that I drove in birmingham was midnight blue looked better then the silvers in my opinion.  I went all black. But midnight blue is nice.

Btw nice spec similar to mine.

Yeah limestone isn't the nicest grey in the word!  I've got a candy white Mk5 GTI and am getting a pure white Mk7 - different enough, but still white and I do love white sporty cars.  I swing hot and cold on that midnight blue - in bright light it can look really nice, especially with the red accents of the GTI - other times it looks a bit dull.  Still, if you saw it in the flesh and liked it, I'm sure you will be very pleased with it :)

You need to look at all the colours and really make your mind up - that's a lot of money being spent on something you might not like the colour of in the long term. Night blue looks great in the right light, but do you like it on a crappy overcast day (we get a lot of those)?

Not a fan of the white, not because it looks bad (it doesn't), but there are so many white cars out there in general, and about half the recent Golfs out there in my locality are white and the GTI/GTD don't stand out massively against the SE/GT to the casual glance, so it looks just another Golf in a sea of white.

I couldn't agree more,

Everyone is going for White at the moment. I know 3 people who have just bought new cars in the last 3 months, all of them white.

Just so you know, you can still change the colour until you have a confirmed build week which judgeing by some of our orders could be a very VERY long time!

I agree, a lot of car sold these days are white.  I've always had white cars though, nothing new here for me!  In terms of the Mk7 GTI/GTD, I just happen to think white suits it best, but of the few I've seen on the road, none have been white.

How about Carbon Grey?

I've seen it close up in the flesh, very very nice. And exclusive to GTD/GTI's. Nearly changed my order but didn't through DEEP FEAR of order being pushed back - even though it shouldn't. Get the feeling VW are looking for any excuse to push customer orders back.

Belated welcome btw
