Post by: madsb on 15 August 2013, 18:00
This wasn't on the car when I bought it:

Drivers  side, by rear wheel obv.

Where can I get the part?`The metal isn't as rusted as it seems. The sills are fairly new

The caps at the rear are fixed to the sill trim, it's the front cap that you buy separate. I bought 2 for mine last week £13 pound for sill trim and £6 for the front cap. Volkswagen only and they are discontinued Stock.

They clip into the upper metal strip but I uusually pump some black silicone behind if for extra security as you've already discovered the strip rots away and they eventually fall off.

I wouldn't buy a used one as they have a habit of falling off after a few years! and for under £8 from vw they aren't too expensive!
