Title: VR6 Engine Code??

Hi,

I have just bought a mk2 with a VR6 lump in it, all I know is that it came out of a 93 Vento, I cannot find the engine code on the block, the sticker on the rocca cover is beyond reading and cant see anything on the side, is ODB1 does that make it AAA??

VR6 is an AAA (same engine fitted to all mk3's just different electronics)

AAA is 2.8, ABV is 2.9 which is from a Corrado

Spot on guys thanks.

So what about the DOHC 2.8 in the later models? or are they all 2.9?

I ask this as my current engine the AAA is needing new value seals soon and I seen a DOHC engine on here and toyed with putting it in instead as they are a 24v.

I am only assuming that they are same for mounting so all I would need to do is the wiring??
