hi all, I bought a mk 5 golf gti last weekend 3rd aug 2013 from a private seller, car was fine for about 15 mile then all of a sudden the car started to go wrong...
the revs/engine seem to cut out over 80mph if I put my foot down a bit or if it goes over 3/4000 rpm. I got the AA and Hi Q garage to run diagnostics on it and getting some error codes:
from the AA Man
P2293 fuel pressure regulator 2 performance
from Hi Q
04195 fuel regulator control
00665 boost pressure regulation
anyone experienced this problem before?? is it the sensors which are cheap to buy or the actual regulator costing £££?? :-/
any advice or help will be much appreciated!

Although not a solution, this sounds very simular to a problem I had with a mk2 GTI. Just tries to stall while driving at certain RPM and then it's fine again. I was always told it was fuel evaporation which was a common problem with old VW cars...
Have you tried something as simple as fuel line/injector cleaner, just to make sure the fuel is getting to the engine correctly? Also, when was the last full major service where the oil and spark plugs where changed?

It could be camshaft worn where high pressure fuel pump runs which would need new camshaft and pump
