Post by: GeordieChap on 12 August 2013, 19:18
Evening all
Cracking through the jobs on my 16v and having fitted a new expansion tank have found that water is coming through the sensor at the top, discovered the sensor was cattled probs over tighten by me, so replaced with a new one and seal today and its still happening going to try a new blue cap tomorrow but wondered if any one knows what the sensor should be torqued to as dont what to over tighten another sensor.

I'd use PTFE tape - I always struggle to find PFT tape and the missing E can cause poor sealing.

If you don't know what we're on about it's PTFE plumbers thread-sealing tape, which you will find at any ironmongery place, or even B&Q.
