my golf 1.8t AUM is getting remapped next week im just wondering what people would suggest doing to the car before hand. its had 4 new coil packs from vw put on ,ive checked all pipes and replaced ones that were damaged ,ive just done 500 miles in it last week on holiday and it never missed a beat .
-oil , filter change ?
- new spark plugs ?

depends what you want. if your looking to modify it a lot and get maximum power or just wanting to keep it relatively standard and just get a map..
if you want just a map then...
full service (unless its just been done less than 5k ago. check all sensors and make sure its running spot on, stick a fault code reader on to make sure theres no faults, proberbly a uprated dv anyway cause don't think the standard ones can hold much pressure...
if your wanting to mod and get max power
the above & fmic, uprated boost hoses, uprated dv, full exhaust system including down pipe, induction kit/panel filter... then if you were wanting to go further injectors, hybrid/big turbo etc..
aslong as you have it running sweet when it goes in im sure you will come out with a huge grin on your face...

Raise your coilovers too if it's low or it won't go on the rollers

Aum charge pipe to agu charge pipe.
Oil pump/pickup pipe
-
Take a couple of spare coil packs as old ones can often go during or just after mapping,

When I was in your position I made sure the car was fully serviced.
As soon as I got the car home-
Cam belt and all rollers/tensioners.
Oil change.
Sump off and new pick up.
Another oil change (synta platinum)
G12 coolant , water pump, stat.
Brake fluid.
Platinum plugs.
All the above from VW/TPS.
I also renewed all vacume hoses, carbon canister delete, and fitted a catch can.
The trip to Midland VW then showed it had the wrong throttle body and a weak actuator.
The Car was then safely mapped after a TB adaption and tighten of the actuator. And I'm pleased with the results.
I treated the visit to midland VW as a health check. And I have a healthy car. Even at 100k compression is 195psi on all cylinders. Check yours also.
I would also fit a boost gauge. And if you have time get a free copy of VCDS and did one logs.
Good luck!
