i am in the philippines at the moment...almost no vw's in sight except some old beatles....wonder why vw does not have a strong presence here...i have seen a few opels, mercedes and bmw...but only the beetles for vw...lots of japanese cars though

Was in croatia and montenegro recently and literally saw more mk2 golfs there than anywhere else, even perhaps here in late 80s, early 90s. They were all old beaters with galactic mileage that had been sold on from other parts of Europe though, hardly any GTIs. Kind of a testament to the endurability of vws from that era.

will be up north in Isabella but we are in legazpi near an active volcano at present. also a typhoon has passed by

South Africa. Vw Citi golf. Mk1 that was still being made up until 2009

I only look out for Mk2's when abroad.
Saw 1 in Umm Qasr in Iraq 10yrs ago.....

i've just been to Montserrat and seen a werecked mk2 jetta on the side of the road

Just returned from Mexico - loads of jetta's and newish vw's and almost all white.
