Title: mk2 golf 16v with 20vt - rev counter inop
Post by: awallis on 07 August 2013, 19:13
hi got a 16v golf with a 20v turbo lump in it. When I first brought the car the revs worked fine but i've had the speedo out since. And now my revs are inop. I've found the air pipe that goes onto the back of the rev counter but cant find where it pushes into in the engine bay. The pipe is only 5/6inches long so wont reach far. Any help?

The vacuum pipe doesnt operate the rev counter it works via a signal from coil on a 16v but you will have a different setup as its a 20v. What ecu are you running?

There should be a feed wire running from ecu to the rev counter wire which im guessing has pulled apart when you removed the clocks.

So just a case of tracing wires :(
