Title: Tinted my Repeater & Reflectors - looks pretty good
Post by: RocketRossUK on 06 August 2013, 20:51
Hey up guys,

thought i would just post on my activities today, decided to tint wrap my reflectors and repeater with light tinting film to match my Depo smoked LED Rears.

They look so much better than the bright red standard one, what you guys think?

Here are some before and afters: (sh1t phone pics i know)

Looks good! Goes well with the rear LEDs, what did you use and how easy was it?

Just got smoked tinting film from eBay, its not too hard to do, just a bit of patient and heat gun or hair dryer and off you go

Be interesting to see what vosa or a strict MOT tester says.
I think there not tinted for legal rear reflector reason's and thats why they are seperate to the rear lights.

Dont get me wrong i like the look improvement but iirc local police use to pull lads with tinted lights and refer to the reflector part.

As Snoopy said, the reflectors.must be red in order to reflect a red light which makes yours now illegal. Now I don't suppose you will have any issues with it at all... until someone runs into the back of it when it is parked at night and your insurance won't pay out.

Oh...tough choice now, the red just looks so awful. I park my car on my drive every night, so fingers crossed that wont happen

its not the lights, it the reflectors near the bottom that people are warning me about.
