I really like the idea of the bike carbs in the thread lower down, but looks alot of work. Has any one fitted a bigger throttle body to the 8v gti? and if so what was it from. I was thinking about a mk2 16v tb with an adapter plate and a widened inlet manifold entrance. Thought and any info welcome

what about an abf or vr6 one?

Already had a google and the abf is the same as the 8v (maybe a tiny bit bigger, but not worth a swap). Thought about the mk2 16v one because my old clio 16v had a very similar tb and had a approx 3" opening cause of the 2 butterflies.I'll have a look at the VR tho.

You sure the 8v is the same size as ABF/VR6?
I know that are the same sized butterfly...but thought the 8v was smaller.

Yeah, i was rooting through various pages from googling and a few said the 8v and 16v were the same size but some others said the 16v was only slightly bigger. Im just going to keep a eye out on ebay for a cheap mk2 16v tb. Im planing a trip to the Pod in October so hopefully I'll rig one up for then. If it works I'll let you know and take some pics.
