Just found this uploaded onto you tube

Timed it a couple of times and get 0 -100 Kph or 0 -60 in 6.1 seconds. Way faster than the quoted 7.5s by VW!!!
-
Just had a look and the same guy has driven the GTI performance too
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Zexo8qsUeDg
I get this as about 5.9 seconds.

Feck! that's quick for an oil burner!!
Please VW - hurry up with my beauty......

Looked like the GTI needed two DSG changes, thought it only needed one from 0-100?
-
Come on that's had some sort of mod, there is no way a standard GTD could only be two tenths slower than a GTI PP and 5.9 for that is questionable too?
-
Oh dear, this post will be getting looked or moved to the derv section only, so as to not offend anyone

To be honest, whilst it would be great if my GTD was that quick when it arrives, I highly doubt it's as quick as a GTI. What isn't known from that video is if the car was on a slight downwards incline or has been modified in some way.
I do believe it will be quicker than 7.5 seconds, but probably no more than say 7 seconds flat ?
-
Looks rapid! Maybe it's running one of the tuning boxes? Surely a standard one can't b that much quicker than book time?

Nope...all atandard 6.1 and 50+ mpg mawahhhhhh

My hunch is its been modified in some way. Looks/sounds bloody quick though.
You GTD boys must be salivating at the prospect

If it is standard then there's a lot more potential - a £290 box from TDI-tuning boasts 239PS and 495Nm (would that torque be a worry for the clutch in the longer term?). It would seem that the TDI seen there is probably pushing at least 210PS already. I know VW generally inderstate power output or quote worst case/non-run in figures, but that is amazing. My 170 TDI can just about outdo my mates MK6 GTI on a 2 mile uphill drag (but not on the flat) from a rolling 20mph start - A19 Silverlink roundabout to Killingworth

It's always hard to know when you can't see the road but it looks very quick.
Here is another video of a side by side test of a Standard MK7 GTI vs GTD DSG.

Still close to 100kph but in the 100hph - 200kph time the GTI is 10 seconds faster
I see Superchips have the first stage map for the new GTI putting out 290 BHP and 435Nm
-
Would be nice to see that video from outside the cars?
