Title: VSIB Certificate?
Post by: Bazzer on 15 August 2005, 11:09
Hi All

I'm pretty close to getting another Golf now, and the one thing say square in my way is the alarm. I've been to look at a few golfs which have various degrees of security installed, but my insurers (Priviledge) will only insure me for theft after they get the VSIB certificate for a Thatcham Cat. 1 alarm and immobiliser installation.

Does anyone know if you can get a duplicate of a lost certicicate from VSIB? I've emailed them but they're slow to respond!

Does anyone know if you can get an alarm (obviously an _applicable_ alarm) checked over by a VSIB approved installer and get a certificate?

Long shot I know, but I don't fancy laying out dosh when I don't have to.... I could even have to get one alarm removed before a new one is fitted, meaning almost twice the install price!!!

TIA

Yep, that would be the best thing to do :)
