Title: Private plate queries ???

I am looking for a private plate to put on my mk3 golf (1995), how ever the car was 1st brought to Scotland and DVLAs 1st registered date for car is 2003.

Could I put a private 2003 for example

Nope you cannot make the car look newer, so you could use up to a 1995 plate.

Even though in the log book it's first registration was 2003?

Yes because the car was made in 1995, they will always base it on that date.
