Tensioner idler looks like its been bent and not running true with the belt, replace the tensioner.
-
So I need to replace the arm and the idler pulley does the altenator still tension the belt on the abf engine thanks
-
maybe the alternator is wrong fitting? or tensioner assembly is bolted to engine squint? the tensioner arm does look bent in pic but its hard to be sure from that angle.
-
Alternator is fixed on abf as per tensioner, agree with above check alt is correct and the tensioner is bolted up square,it still looks bent to me though!
-
Thnks for ur help
-
Now I have removed fan belt and I have found out that the tensioner arm can slide out a bit so now the pulley dosent rub is this normal my car has only 110k on the clock has anyone else noticed this with the tensioner
-
Shouldn't do that, sounds broken
-
Certainly can't remember mine having side movement in it.

It lasted one drive and it went back no one stocks the part as its part of the bracket that holds the altenator and pas pump
