Hi Folks !
Was just wondering if any of you chaps had any pics of the MK5 GTI in any other colours apart from red, white, black or silver. Just cant make my mind up and would be great to see some pics of the other colours, especially the grey.
Thanks in advance...

Saw a grey one up close last week, wasn't impressed to be honest. Silver is closer in terms of colour and looks better IMHO. Mind you, I went for red, so it is a personal opinion.

No more laser blue !
That is arguably one of the MK5 GTI best colours. Anybody know the reason why laser blue will no longer be available ?
-
Getting to the point were I'm thinking about placing my order for the new MK5 GTi. Was wondering if anybody could confirm if 'Laser Blue' has infact been discontinued or if its still available?
Thanks

This is why I am going to get 3M transparent stone-chip protection - no chips
I ordered in January but now I am getting impatient - due to be build week starting 27th March. Maybe I should go to Wolfsburg and make sure they do it properly
-
Sounds like a plan illyun! How about we pick the motors up and get some 3M covering on the way back
How much for the bonnet covering matey? Sounds like a good investment...
Does anyone have any thoughts on supaguard?

Hello,
i'm also torn between black and blue graphite. I started on red but went off that when a saw one in the metal (they look great in magazine reviews). Then I decided on black, went to place my order and spotted a blue graphite Jetta in the showroom, this threw me into turmoil and I came away without ordering. I know black is a "classic" GTI colour and I wonder if the blue graphite will affect residuals. Also, if i go for black, does the metallic look £350 better than the solid and is there any difference in scratch resistance/wear/ageing?
                          Cheers,
                              MrBodger.

I haven't got a price from the dealer as yet but judging from what VW Main Dealer said, I might be better off going to a specialist who does this as the one offered by the main dealers doesn't look very nice - and may not be easily removable. The one I have seen is easily removable and hard to spot.

take a look at the above link and see the FAQ section - no yellowing of the film occurs and it is removable :nerd:
Also these people say their product is better than 3M - www.rhinoprotect.com - and costs £349.99 for the Golf
-
Thats for complete protection by the way - i.e. all areas they can cover instead of one area like the bonnet for example
