Title: Golf mk3 gti 8v

Hi guys im new to this so please be gentle ;).
I wonder if anyone can help me with this: when my golf is in neutral and I rev I up it starts shivering and it nearly stalls. It only does this in neutral I have no running issues whatsoever although it lacks high end power a bit.any help on this would be much appreciated thanks

Try cleaning out the throttle body as this is a common fault and if no joy there try cleaning the idle control valve. Nothing serious and should take no longer than an hour to do with a tea break and costs nowt.

would be good to know WHICH of the 3 (4 if you include 16V) engines you have....
