Title: Mk2 20vt

I have owned my mk2 8v GTI for 2 years now, and although I loved it even in 8v mode, I took the chance to have it converted to a 20vt.

It has an AGU engine from a mk4 running DTA management at around 215bhp, an 02j gearbox, g60 front brakes with braided lines, lowered on shocks/springs 40mm.

The power is just perfect for me, very fast but with little or no torque steer or wheel spin. Anyway here are some pics of the conversion.

Cost of all parts was about £2k but that included g60 brakes, Qpeng downpipe and the engine with management (2nd hand). Other parts include engine mounts and mount brackets, Mercedes sprinter intercooler, tachometer converter, brake master cylinder and hydraulic peddle box.

Thanks! Yeah it's lowered 40mm. The ride was very hard before the conversion, but its like a different car now; it's much less harsh. I'm can't be sure, but this could be a result of new/upgraded engine mounts ?

Yeah it had to remain quad grill for me

Yeah the car is identical in appearance (apart from a hint of intercooler through the grill) the mk2 clocks are still there, even the golf ball gear knob and mk2 key remain!

Yeah tachometer converter for revs. Wouldn't have wanted newer clocks, it would have spoilt the look of the interior for me.
