I wish I could speak German, this guy gets to see the birth of his GTI so jealous...

he's not a customer. he's a German journo. does look like his car though
-
A cool video nice to see what actually happens during the build process...
-
That's actually a really good vid whether you understand him or not.
Btw, my wife translated a bit for me and mostly he is just saying "I build this myself, really pleased with my handiwork" and stuff like that.
-
Great vid. Thanks for posting
God it just makes me want mine now!
-
Great find! I'd love to have that experience. 8) I really like his videos even though i can't understand a word! ;D
-
That guy reminds me of Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars!
-
Would be a white 3dr wouldn't it (http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g275/ShinyYellowTruck/Facepalm%20WTF/bth_bangHeadAgainstWall.gif)
Great video though, thanks for posting.

Great video! That would be so  being there to see your being born
-
Nice to see a close up of the PP brakes also.
That is some fancy equipment that puts the chassis and body together in 15 seconds !!

If it only takes 15 seconds to bond the chassis why is it taking 20 odd weeks to deliver
I would absolutely love to walk around Wolfsburg and have a nosy at the production line. Would be fascinating. Imagine how chaotic it would be if we all descended on mass to the plant to watch our cars being built.
-
What a great vid, nice find! That guy is hilarious too!
Nice to see a complete lack of TR's in production as well
-
Same guy, same car (??) as Jimble posted in the links thread

LOL.
I thought of you when I saw that too! Wasn't sure if you'd be pleased he picked the same car as you or angry his is being made first?
Looks like PP, Pro Nav, Sunroof (nice inside shots) and full leather (I think?). Has he got weird 17" Austins? They look crap! I guess from his other videos he doesn't care as he's gonna switch them anyway perhaps?
-
Sweet video. Particularly cos that's the exact car I've ordered. 3 Door white, PP with DSG
-
Same here, nice vid to see where these come from, have a look at his other vids to see what he's done to the car!!!
-
Saw him in the video Jimble posted the other day, he's a legend, I'm glad I'm not the only one anymore it can be quite a burden at times.

whats he done to the filter box on one of his vids? taking parts out and throwing them away??

At the rate our cars are being built, "en mass" wouldn't really be required!

Anyone notice that when the chassis was being married with the suspension that the calipers were non performance pack, but when the car was built it had the GTI on the callipers, indicating the performance pack?
And after all that, he went with the crap standard wheels instead of the Austins?!! Plus, they built the steering wheel on the wrong side

The car you're talking about was also a 5 door.. :nerd:

If you watch his other videos on youtube you will see why he specced the cheapest wheel option.

What's he doing here http://youtu.be/lq_soAli8Qs (http://youtu.be/lq_soAli8Qs)

Seems to be removing bits with no obvious purpose in order to save weight.
Smart move.

Well it comes out from under the air filter so perhaps he thinks it was restricting airflow?
-
he mentions turbo lag so possibly removing that extra piece helps.
-
Or possibly it acts as a "resonator" to keep noise levels low, the title of the clip leads me to beleive that also "Mini SOUNDtrick"
Someone who has their GTI, go try this quick and report back :-)
