Hi guys ive just purchased an sfs silicone tip ,will I actually notice any difference changing from the standard item, ive heard standard is restrictive,my engine is agu ko3,it has the following mods, piper induction kit ,remapped, 3"downpipe decat 2.5 s/s single box system, front mount ic,forge 008, cheers
-
yeah you will, pig to fit without ramps
-
Cheers tg so its worth the hastle then
-
i noticed on my AUQ straight away and yea its a tw@t to fit but its worth it
-
Yeah I noticed a difference on my AGU, the pick up is a lot smoother
-
yep i notice a difference also, however set aside 2-3 hours and just when you think you cannot get it on and your ready to give up, pop it goes on lol
-
It is a bugger to fit but if you get the 3" inch end and put on an S3 bam engine MAF housing you get a lot more air intake.

2-3 hours? what, surely not,did you take the engine out to fit it  its only a bolt and some clips how can this be,im going to do it tomorrow
-
Good luck!
-
You will see
-
but it might be a lot easier on the mk3?
-
Finally had a chance to fit the tip today, not sure about gains yet as I always struggle to tell the difference, maybe a little extra torque lower down, my 008 sounds different not as loud as before more of a hish than a ptssh lol, also had a few loud pops (backfire) out the exhaust when changing up is this to be expected?

How did it go mate? Which tip you got?

Wasn't to bad to fit really,i turned a couple of alu top hat plugs for the two unused take offs,it is an sfs tip.
Right I can now confirm that there is defo more power which is great, what is not so great is my boost seems to drop off more than ever in the higher revs down, from 0.8 to 0.4 bar, could this be a weak actuator spring causing this?
Also when I let off the throttle my engine wants to leap forward ,anyone got any info on this
-
What dv u got? And what colour spring is inside it?
-
008 yellow. This is now noticeably quieter aswell :undecided:
-
I cant say anything as mine is totally standard atm & i aint drove it far apart from at the garage (private land) and my turbo was making a fluttering noise :undecided: i got a dv007 with yellow spring to go on and s2k filter. Thinking about a forge tip aswell and a k03s.

Mine used to make a flutter noise when my standard dv went awol

Oh thats kool then as i got an awesome forge 007 here to replace the bosch on my agu. I just stripped it down and it has 4 parts to it, top and bottom covers, yellow spring and a piston. Is it ment to have something else?

Thinking about doing the actuator external spring mod to rule it out as its practically free and takes 2 mins to do.
