Title: what coolant best to use and how much would i need from empty.

Had to change my thermostat so now need coolant.

G13 Coolant 3 litres 50/50 mix with water which will mix to 6 litres in total.

G12 ready mixed in 5lt containers about a fiver from ecp, just top up with a bit of water when its settled

G13 is same as G12 mate. Just newer version.

G12++ is what u want
3 liters, then 3 liters of water too

My local Vw sells G13 now. As already mentioned its the same as G12++ just more environmentally friendly. Either will be fine

Recently overhauled the cooling system on my vr, went to VW and there system showed g12++ has been superseded by G13. But you could still go for the stuff ecp sell with no problems

On Haynes manual says 6.3 liters to be exact.
