Title: Panoramic roof
Post by: firefly125 on 25 July 2013, 21:42
Was just wondering on fellow potential gti /gtd owners views on the following ; I have ordered gti as 5 dr with oryx paint with pan roof , cos the roof isn't really a proper full length pan roof , ie does not stretch  full length of roof I reckon it looks a bit ' odd ' ( Or is it just me  ? ) so was thinking would a high gloss black wrap on the rest of the roof be the answer to make it appear full length ??

Hi, i was thinking the same thing, and may spec this with my order, to give the two tone effect. A wrap would be a good idea as it's not permanent.

My old silver A3 sportback had the opensky, which covered the whole roof. So i would like to replicate it again.

Have you had a wrap before? I had 2 gloss wraps recently and they are sh!te, they just look cheap up close and had 2 different people doing them and they still were not right. I agree wish the went across the whole roof with it.

Can't think of anything worse than tarting up a new car, sorry !

I think the part dark roof looks good and my main reason for speccing it is for the fresh air, not to pretend I have a black roof ?

Surely if you don't like that look then go for carbon grey or back then the roof isn't so visible.. Or don't spec it
