The power steering pump on my abf has started making some lovely noises and desperately needs changing. Can't find a used one but does anyone know if any others will go on?
I have mk3 lines so not sure whether the fittings are different to mk2 ones and have been told the pulley shaft is different on some models of mk2 and mk3. Anyone know?

Are you 100% sure it's the actual pump. I had horrible noises coming from mine, changed the pump and flushed the system with no luck. Then noticed the return hose from the reservoir was cracked and was letting air into the system. When a pump pumps air it makes the awful noise. Check over your low pressure lines first before changing the pump.

Had the belt off and there's play in the pulley. I didn't run the car without belt on because I was pretty sure it's that. It's a whirr and and squeak from the pump when running

With a new pump I get a squeak on full lock. From above you can see the belt slipping on the pulley. Your noise description doesn't sound like an air leak though. New pipes are stupidly expensive.

Lost steering whilst on way to get new pump.
And I didn't get new pump. Pump is working still but nothing is happening
