Title: Upgrading my mark 6 1.4TSI 122ps. 7 speed DSG Box
Post by: esoxhunter on 24 July 2013, 11:17
Hi,
new member. I am already very pleased to see a number of topics of great interest to me.
I take delivery of a 2010 1.4 TSI DSG on Friday. It is the S model, and lacks alloys, front arm rest, cruise, and has a steering wheel by Lego.
What a brilliant car though. I have already sourced alloys and arm rest rest, and cruise can wait.
My question is : will a Mark 5 s/wheel fit the mk6? The OEM on the 6 has no functions built in, and the leather wheel from the mk5 I am considering is also functionless.(apart from the air bags).
Is it doable?
I am just looking for assurance before I buy, not the technical help.
I am taking the car next week to Superchips in Chichester. For £399 they can offer 155 BHP, 0-60 in 7.9, and smoother acceleration. Mpg will 'probably' be improved too. Sounds almost too good to be true, but seeing is believing...... I will post pics, once the early upgrades are on.
Thanking anyone able to advise. Kind regards.

Welcome aboard.

The steering wheel from the Mk5 should fit, but a non-MFSW from a Scirroco may look better as it is the same as the Mk6 one, but without the buttons. The Mk5 one looks very dated now.

Thank you for such a quick reply. I will see if I can find a non MFSW WHEEL FROM A SCIRROCO. I Agee the mark 5 looks dated, but it is still a huge improvement on the basic wheel in the S version!
I don't know if the Oak Green Mark2 Golf in the picture is yours, but I had two in my youth, and I simply loved them. It looks lovely .
Thanks again.
Best wishes,

It is mine yes. I wanted one in my youth, but they were new, and I had no money.
