Title: Electrics Problem
Post by: Kula on 22 July 2013, 20:31
Hi GTI'ers I have a problem with the electrics so to speak, the car is hardly used at the moment so has spent much of the time in a nice and dry garage.
now in the last day, when called upon it has developed an electrical fault;
The things not working that I know about are:
Windows (front is down)
Remote Locking
Speedo
trip computer
interior lights
Fuel warning however keeps sounding
Fuse 14 keeps blowing, so I have a short somewhere, but do not know where to start to look.
Are there any favouite places to look?

Many thanks

All I can say is I had a celica once, where I had no electrics other than side lights and the car starting. It turned out to be the alternator fuse. However that was on a toyota!
