Title: Whys my 300bhp Golf cutting out only on Roundabouts ???
Post by: mattyfairbro240579 on 21 July 2013, 23:24: Hi there, does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this issue

As im going into a big roundabout in 3rd gear and then want to put my foot down on the accelerator the cars cutting out, feels like theres no fuel, and as soon as im back on the straight it runs perfectly

Post by: ben.banks21 on 23 July 2013, 12:07: sounds like fuel starvation to me and a swirl pot might be needed, if your hitting a roundabout in 3rd then your odviously hitting it at speed. so the fuel in your tank will be shifting from the side of your pump to the other side. fill your tank full then try it. does it pop and bang when doing it?

I tried it with 3/4 of a tank a was still doing it :undecided:

its 50/50 as to whether it pops and bangs

going to remove the fuel pump over the next few days to check if everything is ok with it

need to sort it cos my mate nearly ran up my arse end the other day not realising that the car had briefly cut out on the roundabout

Post by: Wazzzer on 23 July 2013, 23:34: I'm saying fuel pump is struggling. Not sure what one Toby fitted but it might be worth looking for a Cupra R pump, straight fit with no messing about

Post by: jamie16v on 23 July 2013, 23:47: i was having these exact issues with my walbro in tank pump. i went for a lcr pump in the end and no issues since. if the lcr pump struggles i would be looking at fitting an in-line pump and surge tank.
