Title: Alternator replacement
Post by: scarr89 on 21 July 2013, 22:46
Alternator defo packed up on the way back today, was driving with no lights or anything for quite a while  :lipsrsealed:

Dash flashing every warning sign possible at me - Which I'm hoping will disappear when the battery has charge!

Question is, how tough is it to replace one? I quite spanner savvy and have loads of tools...

Any tips or ideas?

TIA.

it could just be the regulator that has packed in, can be had for about £25 and can be done with the alternator left in place, though it may be a little awkward.

Bullet bitten. £200 ligther and a new alternator in place. I shouldn't have left parked it straight at the garage other wise I could have waited for the parts  :undecided:
