Golf MK6 owners (or others for that matter) has anyone experienced problems with annoying rattling from dashboard around steering column area and also in the roof console?
If so, any cures found to restore peace and quiet? Mine is a 2012 model, very low mileage and been to main dealers three times and they still have not fixed it.

A mk6 wouldn't be a mk6 without rattles! Just be careful when trying to fix them cos you might make more!

I have one in the centre console, where the armrest is... It's not too bad though.
Also the seat squeaks sometimes, it's the trim on the side that needs sorting i think.

Rattles, one of the joys of mk6 ownership! My philosophy - turn up the music and drown them out

I had a "rattle" under the bonnet around an air intake box front right of the engine bay.
Turned out to be two loosely fitting thirds of the box, a bit of double sided tape to bulk up some of the joins, no more noise.

If it's any consolation I see I posted about "a couple of minor creaks from the rear" in that thread above on the 28th April 2010. I still have the car and it doesn't creak at all now. Hasn't done for a long time so they're not all so bad.
