I made a little hook out of some metal,
Basically bolted to the block with a gearbox bolt and the hook would sit in the ring gear locking the engine.

One of the most useful tools I have, Have used it countless times removing and fitting flywheels

hi just get someone to hold a spanner on crankshaft pulley bolt. the clutch bolts are never that tight anyway. try holding flywheel with 1 hand and undo bolts with other first.
