Hi everyone,
I am looking for some advice on supporting mods required before remapping my GTI 1.8T AUM 150. I am looking to get between 190 and 200hp out of a stage one remap and was wondering what I should upgrade before doing this. my budget is £400 to £500 including the remap but the less I can spend the better. Any advice would be very much appreciated

Mine was mapped with just a pipercross air filter and forge 007p and it made 202bhp. Just make sure it's healthy, check for boost leaks, give it an oil/filter change etc.
-
Just had the car fully serviced by vw last week, has a 17705 boost leak error that shows up but the VW guarrage couldnt find anything wrong with it. Currently car shudders a little once warm when sitting at traffic lights, been advised that cleaning the throttle body should fix it, car also seems to surge a little in first gear at quarter throttle, not sure whats causing this.
-
Fingers crossed when I clean the throttle body it'll fix the surging too
-
I cleaned my throttle body a few weeks back and since its givin me the 17705 code, but there is no leaks. Remember and do the reset as soon as you put things back together.
-
I just went for a panel filter and a remap and made 205 on my aum

17705 will be a leak on your DV valve or the pipe

17705 is just a bug, rtech remove it with the map.

Drove the car again today, seems to be surging a bit, kind of feels like the clutch is slipping only it isnt the clutch (car has less than 28K on it and the revs arn't jumping up) Anyone any ideas? Should probably get this fixed before the remap, could this be throttle body too? MAF sensor is one of the newer ones, not sure when it was replaced but was fitted with the 5 star bolt instead of 6 could be the other way round but definitely a newer maf.

I'm sure it's 90% bug, 10% leak.

Think I'm going to take it to wallace performance or motorwerks in aberdeen unless anyone knows anywhere better? Is there a big difference after the remap?
-

I'm sure it was only a big after being remapped?? And if its on a standard Ecu car then it will be genuine

Apparently it's a bug in the standard ecu. When rtech mapped my car they removed the code.

Ahhh I see, no worries
