I'm getting oil deposits on two of my spark plugs, the plugs are only 500 miles old but look knackered. Also it's been a bit lumpy when cold. Thanks

What car?
-
Mk2 16v should if said that really , whoops
-
Have you torqued them up correctly?
-
No don't have a torque wrench
-
Try to just nip them up a bit more and see if that cures your problem. Are the threads wet with oil? If so it could be the cam cover gasket.
-
£10 says it's the cam cover gasket leaking into the plug holes, which is also causing shorting issues which is why it is running lumpy.
-
That's sounds plausible it looks quite simple to change the rocker gasket or am I being over confident?
-
Simple job, just make sure it's properly clean and zig-zag around the bolts WITH a torque wrench - if you over-tighten them it will leak again.
-
Gonna have to put that on the list, spending too much time cleaning me new ed35. I'll order the part, when work and family life quieten down iv promised myself a day on the car.
-
Have a look at the distributor as well - they are notorious for oil leaking into them.

It's a new car, it's clean already, numbnuts. Leave it alone and go and do something more positive with your life, like changing your rocker cover gasket on your Golf2.

That's a bit harsh, one real ones a toy

Ain't gonna polish up any faster now, is it?
