Hi folks,
the car threw up some faults codes at the weekend.
17704 - Error in Mapped Cooling System (usually temp Sensor or Thermostat)
P1296 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17705 - Pressure Drop between Turbo and Throttle Valve (check D.V.!)
P1297 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
18010 - Power Supply Terminal 30: Voltage too Low
P1602 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
Readiness: 0000 0000
17704 - I have both thermostat and cool temp, but just waiting until I do the timing belt and pump next month. Anyone know if this can cause boosting issues though?
17705 - after a few checks online, this seems quite common. My car is stock and not remapped so ruling out a software issue. I cleaned the throttle body and changed the gasket 2 weeks ago. I forgot to do the TB reset, so I was thinking this was the issue. Done the reset, cleared codes and it still coming back.
I have checked pretty much most of the vac pipes and seem in good order. Going to check the pancake pipe tomorrow though.
18010 - The battery seems ok, but I willl get it tested. However last week, my battery was used in a fiesta xr2 to get it home as the fiesta's battery was goosed - Alternator was pumping out 19v's!. Before I used my battery in the fiesta, I did not have this fault code. I am wondering if the fiesta alt has ruined my battery :(
In general the car idles fines, checked the 032 block and tolerance was good. The car drivings fine and has a healthy spool and has no missfire.
Any feedback is welcome or even some vagcom measuring tips :)

17704 - Yes it can as the ECU won't know what the coolant temp is so can't give the right fuel
17705 - enjoy finding that leak
18010 - it's there because you disconnected your battery

Thanks. I notcied the other night, when I started the car with the dashboard lights, they went off and then back on. Will get the batt tested, but thinking its getting past its best.
Coolant sent getting changed tomorrow :smiley:. Checked the pancake pipe and was all good.

Make sure it's a VW temp sensor not some cheap eBay crap. As for the boost leak code, it's a bit of a phantom code, a lot of the time there isn't actually a boost leak.

Ok guys, I feel like I need a big slap in the face :laugh:
After years of scanning vags and seats, I have always used "autoscan" on vagcom and hit clear results thinking it should clear the codes.
After reading Ross tech website and saying you have to go into each cluster an do it. Done it on the golf and the 3 codes disappeared. Took it for a 5 min boost. Scanned and no codes :smiley: (not to say they might not come back )
Better do the mrs Ibiza tonight last time had 15+ codes :laugh:

Dom69 - Cheers. Got the temp sensor in, old was fooked. Done the N249 bypass too and its boosting as sweet as a nut.
