Title: Problem turning over after sump refit
Post by: Jammin787 on 15 July 2013, 20:33
Ive recently fitted a new sump on my mark4 golf. I mounted the Kurb and managed to take a chunk out the old one. Fitted a new one and now the engine won't turn over. I've had my mate have a look at it and he wreckens the engines seized! Any chance it could be something?? Thanks for any advice.

hi did you check the oil pick up pipe wasn't pushed up in to the crankshaft? for a quick test get a spanner on the crank pulley centre bolt and see if it will turn backwards slightly. careful of your timing belt jumping though!

Alright mate. No I never checked that, probably worth a look then and I'll do what you suggest with the crank. Fingers crossed. Cheers mate
