After owning a good few bulletproof mk3 vr's i moved onto diesel then spotted a nice mk3 gti, the cars great condition wise however its just damn slow! developed a stuttering when i plant my foot so i unplugged air flow meter and it felt a little better,(not any quicker just smoother due to no holding back) so i replaced maf with one i bought from someone who said it worked fine only to discover it is exactly the same as my old one when fitted. does anyone live west midlands/south staffs who has experience with mk3 gti's? and or possibly lend me a air flow meter to test? or even just go a little drive in it just to let me know how they should be as i've never had a mk3 gti before and if they are this slow anyway it will be straight up for sale as my citroen zx td on bio fuel what i took to the scrap yard last week was quicker, surely that cant be right?
please help! Thanks in advance
