Title: Holiday fun!

Just spent the week in cornwall camping from Bristol first long journey drive in the golf was pleased that it did the 250 miles on half a tank

car was perfect all week then one day I got it stuck on a rock in a car park ( no visible damage)
Next day driving back from newquey and get the engine management light come on car felt fine no loss off power or anything was not far back to the tent so coast most of the way tbh

got back called the RAC they scanned it said it was to rich on bank one - 17545 & the Lamba sensor

But I had also lost a litre of oil in 24 hours

he suggested it might be the hydrolic tappits not opened enough and burnt the oil throughing the light up

anyway next day I stuck some redex in rac also advised

car was fine, no loss of oil for the last 2 days of holiday,

drove back to Bristol fine,

drove around Bristol and BINGO EML light again, this time no loss of oil but the error codes I got where 

17536 - Fuel Trim; Bank 1 (Mult): System too Lean
        P1128 - 35-00 -  -
17545 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add): System too Rich
        P1137 - 35-00 - 

only two I got I have read a rosstech guide that said it might be the MAF and I will do the test later anyone got any other advise or suggetsions )

I would start with the maf or check your breather hoses for a leak. Take no notice of the tappets. That won't make the car run rich.

Being turbo they will burn oil but not as quick as that. Does it smoke? That much oil loss in a short time would show, either if its burning it and you will see smoke coming out of the exhaust or a physical oil leak on the engine. Have you had a crawl underneath?

this is the odd thing, ive been under the car and didn't see anything

and ive not noticed it smoking :S

so to sum up i drove 901 miles last week after around 400 miles i SUDDENLY lost 1 litre of oil in a space of 24 hours

drove another 500 miles and not lost a bean!?

That is odd, are you sure you lost that much the first time?? Just keep an eye on it.

well oil was fine and it took a 1litre  bottle to put it back to max

oh another thing

when I slow down clutch engaged and it cut out happened 2/3 times when I was away but other then that it was okay
