Title: Will my 2.0 Mk4 GTI tow a small boat?

Hi,

I've got a 2001 8v 2.0 GTI. I also have a small 13ft DellQuay Dory on a decent trailer with a 40hp engine on it.

Do you have any experience of whether the golf will be man enough to pull the boat with 2 adults and 2 kids in the car? I don't hav a towbar otherwise I'd just try it so going to have spend money on putting one on and don't want to if its not powerful enough.

I suspect its alright as the boat is very light but after some experience if anyone has.
