Title: HEATING CONTROL LIGHTING QUESTON
Post by: luke300586 on 12 July 2013, 23:35
Hi all I have a 2000 mk4 Golf TDI,

The other month the lights on the heating control dials was on the blink;

It would work, then go off, if I taped the side of the centre console they would come back on.

Now they have completely gone off!

Can anyone give me any advice to get them working again or what I could try?
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the same as mine.

If a tap doesn't turn them back on, I just give it a harder tap  :grin:.

Dodgy bulb or loose wiring connection.

To change the bulb all you need to do is pull the middle control off and then use some long pliers to carefully pull it out and replace it. Wrap a bit of elastic band around the end of pliers for added grip and obviously don't press to hard that you smash the glass.

I can't remember the bulb type, but when I replaced mine I got 10 for pittance on eBay so there your best place to look.
