as above got myself a mk4 gti 1.8t agu engine with 114k. depends on the car i might break it (good for you guys) or keep it and use the engine on my anni as some may know. anway guys i wll be asking alot of help from you 1.8t boys
few things i can think from top of my head is:
fmic- merc sprinter?
forge recirc 007p or 008?
vr6 3" maf?
Forge FM180IND Silicone Inlet Hose T.I.P?
now it will have a k03, but will defo upgrade to a hybrid, now im thinking is there a k04 hybrid?
also should i get the 3" straight pipe? will it work with the k03 or k03's?
anything else i have missed?
also links to the parts would be great peeps

thought this was the reason you bought the car an why would you want to keep a cat-c car has it been repaired yet
-
In pics the damage is minor but why cat c??? Its going to be with me tomoz. Recaro black leathers and climate.

so its not been repaired yet then i cant see the point of fixing it as its not worth much an will be worth more in bits

the damage is minor just a dent in arch and bumper scratched and hanging a bit.
Anway to the point lads.
Will i be ok with a 3" downpipe from a k03? Not k03s (as i will be getting it after and doing things bit by bit)
-
3" downpipe will fit both ko3 and ko3s. As for your other mods it really depends on the kind of power you're aiming for.
Before you do anything make sure the engine is running well, as a minimum I'd do an oil/filter change and check for split boost pipes. When were the cambelt/waterpump last done? Waterpumps are renowned for failing. Oil pickup pipes also get blocked so is worth replacing if there is no record of it being done.
Once the car is running ok then look at mods, either forge d/v will be fine, TIP is a must, personally I'd get a full hose set as well, forge and ths intercoolers fit well, alternatively search for 'wellycooler' and take a look. I'd also think about air intake, again there's a comprehensive thread about if already if you search.
What power are you aiming for?

i would get the car back on the road 1st before worrying about a downpipe or any other mods
-
Throw the engine in a 4mo shell  ko4 etc all that then too

I'd ditch the idea of a sprinter fmic, the cores are rubbish, especially if you're going for 300bhp. I'd also be looking at a Badger5 TIP, S2000 filter is a good setup but as far as I know it hasn't been tested on big power cars. I'd look into the R-tech induction kits that they sell.
If you're going for 300bhp it won't be cheap, you'll need fuel pump, injectors and a full exhaust/decat, you're also around the power/torque that will bend rods

Whats the difference between the mofo (4mo) and the normal 1.8t shell?? Its confusing lols. Well the recovery guy should be on his way back now.
-
Haldex system and i believe suspension etc all is different. Main reasom people do it is for the haldex system. So a 1.8t with 4wd

And 6speed box  but as Dom said its not cheap your looking at about 2k to do it right

How does under 300horses sound? Lol. I will be replacing rods with IE rods but not just yet. Which fmic should i get? I will get a 3" straight through, deof wont be any probs if im running a k03?? How much is the badger5 tip? What about the forge tip? Seen on ebay for 75 which is better?
Which fuel pump will i need? Most likely il be putting engine in my mk3.
How much does r-tech sell his kits for?

Well car arrived and im HAPPY
F all damage apart from the fool who repaired it without trying to push the dent out and decided to fill the fecker with more filler thats in my mates body shop lol. A good 5-9mm of filler was put in the car. Spray was good but was a shade off. Its a silver but with a blue tinge to it. Threw in £7 Vpowaaaaah as it was VERY low on pety. And im having a problem when i rev it to 3k rpm it hunts and will only settle when i tap the gas pedal. Its will hunt under its idle. Drivers seat heats up but passangers wont. Engine is VERY sweeeeeet nice and quiet only hear the injectors and the charcoal filter.
Anyway pics:

have seen cars being registered as cat c for just a front light being smashed an the wing just bent a little is due to the repair being more than its worth im sure

Lols. What are you guys like!! The mk3 anni is going into storage when this hits the rd.

Looks a nice car Sharki is it Satin silver as I like that color its less common than Reflex.Being a ex mk3 owner moving into a mk4 with all the toys feels good and if you like the car I think your far better off putting money into the mk4 instead of the mk3.I think theirs more 20vt mk3s than mk4s now and even with the 20vt conversion there still not worth much unless there done to a very high standard at least with a well tuned and kitted mk4 you stand a chance of getting some return back. Anyway I spotted you the other day down Digbeth by the VW garage in your mk3

Thanks blu. Its like the mk4 is in a different league. Im going to put it on the road. And as you said its been done too many times. I dont know which silver it is lols. All i know its got a slight tinge of blue in it. Was it yesterday blue?? I went to get a quote for a cambelt kit and water pump. And find out if it has any history, i had just finished work aswel. Sorry i didnt see you. Next time you see me horn at me. If it wernt yday then i had finished work at 2 and was on way home.

I would say its Satin silver really nice color if you every drive down the Pershore road from town look to the right the guy who owns the shop has a 3 door mk4 in that color looks mint. It was Monday I was coming from Lodge tyres and on my way to Bournes. I was under cover in my Mrs Sharan that's why you didn't spot me  Oh and my name is spelt Blu not Blue as its my proper name

Righty then i decided to give it a good look over. Checked the oil and its BLACK (got some quantum 10-40 at home that i got from tps for cheaps. Anyway took coil packs out and tried to take the sparkies out but coldnt as i was using an ordinary socket (i know wrong tool, its what i had on hand) when i took the socket out it was covered in oil  anyway my cazan got a proper spark tool out and i took the sparkies out. Looked like they were proper old, covered in soot and they are the ngk R sparkies with single electrode not double or triple. So took everything apart. Took the rocker off, cams, chain & tentioner all look good. Might service it tomoz if i have time.
Turbo is WAAAAY down. How do you guys change it?
P.s looms like its projecto time lol.
Sorry not picies as hands were covered in oil and grease.
-
