Title: VW Golf MK5 - Power Blip
Post by: AndyGB on 10 July 2013, 19:45
My vehicle is a VW Golf MK5 GT 2.0 TDI 170. I am starting to think I have a problem with it because I am experiencing a sudden loss of power when accelerating, albeit only for half a second, usually always around 1800 revs and is only noticeable in first and second gear. It is hard to explain but it almost feels like I take my foot off the accelerator then slam it down again.

No warning lights on the dash.
VCDS showing no fault codes.

Any ideas?

Try cleaning out the EGR valve

Also have you had the injectors replaced under the recall??

When driving this morning there was no problem at all, yet this evening it was blatantly jerking in first gear. I'll try cleaning the EGR this weekend. The injectors have been replaced yes.
