I have an oil leak on my drivers side near the charge pipe.
It is not the charge pipe because I have just changed that to an agu one because I thought it was that.
But I think the oil was just leaking onto the charge pipe and then leaking off of the pancake pipe.
I have a oil patch about 2x50p every time I park up.
I have recently had the rocker gasket done, and it does appear to be weeping a little because it does feel oily at the front and back.
But would and oil leak from here cause that much oil? I have tried to look from the top and I can't see a very bad leak, I have also checked behind the cam belt cover and it looks ok.
I will jack it up tomorrow and have a better look at the back, but the oil is black on the floor.

now I have had a look underneath from the back and cant really see but it is dripping from the top, I wiped the back corner after removing the cam belt cover and revved the engine a little and then wiped again with a tissue and there was more clean oil, because I had the oil done 2 days ago.
What's the best bet now? I'm assuming it will not seal properly now with all this oil on the gasket.

When refitting your new gasket did you torque the bolts down in the correct order or did you just bolt them up till they where tight?
-
I got a mechanic to do it. Cash. But he is obviously a useless twit.

Yes the bolts must be torqued and in the correct order there are all to many mechanics out there that say just tighten them up it will be ok, this was done with my mk3 and boy did I pay for it, I'm now lucky enough to know that my cuz has the tools and when I fit my chrome rocker it will be torqued.

unfortunately I haven't got a torque wrench thats does 10nm otherwise I would do it my self.

ive got the same, its going in the garage sick to death of it. Mine isn't the rocker cover or the charge pipe as I have the agu pipe fitted also. It's at the back on the drivers side.
Will update you on mine could be common on AUMs, who knows!

When i saw your title rocker cover gasket came to mind.... then i noticed that you had it replaced so imagine thats where your problem is - Shouldnt be leaking/weeping.
Imagine it might be one of the following (if not a combination or all of them):
- Not correctly torqued - check that none of the nuts are loose now that the engine has had a few runs. If you dont have a torque wrench and want to do it by hand tightlen it gently as it doesnt require much torque.
- Gasket sealant not used at the transitions - The first time i replaced mine, i didnt do this and had a leak at the rear of my rocker which dripped all the way down the back of the engine. The gasket can move out of place when the rocker is fastened down. Took it off, cleaner it up and put some sealant on which sorted it.
- Gasket mating surfaces (rocker cover or head) not cleanned hindering the seal of the gasket
-
The seal on the left and right sides of the engine arent a flat. Imagine thats where the gasket isnt correctly sealed - the transitions (direction changes) should have a drop of sealant in it.
