Title: Rev Counter, temp gauge, fuel gauge etc not working
Post by: GeordieChap on 10 July 2013, 11:50
Hi
Wondered if someone could point me in the right direction, the rev counter, temperature gauge, fuel gauge and back light illumination isn't working on my mk2 16v 89g, the oil
Pressure light is on, also I don't know if its related but there is a backfire on rev down, have to say car has been axle stands for 18months while I some work on it! Thinking it could be the ground strap from coil but would welcome ideas!
Cheers

Sorry all just realised that I had unplugged the speedometer head re-plugged and all working, DOH, although still a backfire

hi I wouldn't think the coil earth would cause any problems. my 8v ran perfect with it disconnected. I think they are there incase your main earth return breaks so that engine doesn't suddenly die on you. is your cam timing spot on?
