Title: MK5 - Tyres for my car
Post by: mane1034 on 09 July 2013, 21:28
Hi there...

Could you please suggest good tyre for my Golf VW 1.4 S (5 door)?

I was looking on the reviews for tyres and found below tyres got good reviews:

Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta
Vredestein Ultrac Vorti

Not sure which one should I go for.

Thanks

Not having a go but did you notice the title of this website? Golf Gti forum.
I don't imagine that anyone on here knows anything about tyres for a 1.4 Golf.

May have GTI in the title but it caters for ALL Golfs   did you not notice the TDI sub sections?

Besides tyres are just tyres

Does it really matter?
A Mk5 Golf is a Mk5 golf...and the tyres are just as important, surely?

I've not tried the Vredestein summer tyres, but use their Wintrac Xtremes as winters and they are superb.
My choice would be Goodyear Eagle F1s, for summer use.

Ive run both the Sessanta's and the Eagle F1's and I cant give a solid argument as to why the F1's are more expensive

IMO the Vreds offer superb value for money
