Title: power steering pump

hi i have just brought a 91 8v gti there is a leak on the pump,there is a hole on the front as you look at it,with a ball bearing in it.been told it maybe a pressure relief valve?any help plz :huh:

Can you get pictures up of what you mean. The power steering pump only has two hoses. The low pressure return hose which is mounted more at the top , then the high pressure pipe which has a 90 degree elbow straight away and comes out the front. The LP hose will let air int the system and make a whining noise from the pump, you get a leak on the HP though and you will know about it as it will piss out fluid fast.
