Can somebody help answer or advise how this works...
My Golf has power folding door mirrors that can be activated by a joystick on the drivers door, this controls the mirror movement and position as well as the folding in and out.
What i'm trying to work out is, can I set them to fold in on locking the car and then fold out when the car is unlocked?
thanks

Can't be done!

Strange VW missed that trick as it was a feature on my Leon FR which was very useful.

I don't think they missed a trick; what if you don't want to fold out your mirrors when you start the car [such as in a garage for example] it wouldn't be useful then would it?
It's no big deal to fold them out after, must take about 3 seconds

Also if you have parked to close to someone or something you would not want them to automatically open and get damaged/scratched

They've rectified this in the MK7 but it can be disabled if you prefer them not to open on ignition start.

You'd need to be parked very close though wouldn't you? :o Plus they would be out when you parked, i'd be annoyed if someone else parked so close i couldn't open my wing mirrors!! >:(

You can manually turn the dial in the car to fold them too so this would negate any issues with the garage scenario you have suggested.
Which ever way you try to spin out the lower tiered Leon had an additional feature which should have been standard on the Golf IMO.
I'll join in with the
