Title: My 1st ever attempt at cleaning an engine bay...
Post by: Nino on 04 July 2013, 19:45
Well today I finally did it, after wanting to clean my engine bay for months but being too scared to put a hose under the hood today I have finally bit the bullet and did it, I used tin foil to cover up bits I didn't want to get wet, removed my Air filter and used some spray degreeser, i used a product called Gunk and i then used small paint bushes to work in the product, I didnt go to crazy on the rocker/inlet as I have a spare set at an electroplater being chrome plated as we speak :)

I then used some silicone restorer and some metal polish and im happy with the outcome :)

For the degreesing I used "Gunk" spray bottle from halfords £4.99.
For the silicone restore I used Maguires interior/exterior trim restorer.
For the metal I used Maguires Metal polish.

everything else was cotten cloths and elbow greese :)

I'm guessing Ad was saying swap it with a new one ;)

It does look dirty and old compared to a new one.

brother nino, whats happened with the TSI loom cover, you snapped half of it?
best way is to remove all of the tape and get rid of the plastic tray that the loom sits in
