Title: Loose Knob!!

Hi
I have a Mk5 Golf GTI, just picked it up this week and all is good but the gear knob is a little loose which is bugging me! If you twist it one way or the other you can make it tight but then of course it is not sitting square which is equally as annoying!!  Can anyone advise as to how to get thee knob off and if there is an easy fix for this?

I'd like to know this too, my Mk5 Gti gear nob twists backwards and forwards, very annoying, no idea how to get it off ! Anyone ?

yeah I had the same problem. was doing my head in. so I bought a mk2 and life has never been better lol.
