Title: 2.0 abf engine oil??

Does anyone know what it is??
I think 10w40 but im not 100%

10w40 is a good compromise for this country where the outside temp is up and down so much. that was the most common oil grade in the mid to late 90s anyway. well that and 15w40.

hi All,

Is there ANY difference between the ABF engine and the AGG......AGG is what's fitted to my 1998 2.0 convert and would the same oil type be ok?

yeah 10/40 is fine in the agg aswell.

I use 5w/40 synthetic oil from fuchs. Very good oil in my opinion.

Always use Castrol Magnatec and had my car over 10 years!

Just use vw's quantum 10/40 or get the same stuff from tps (trade parts specialists) cheaper

I always stick Quantum semi in mine as well.

Castrol website recommends the Castrol Edge  5/30 but I always used 10/40, 5/30 seems a bit thin and its the same for my diesel passat, weird.
